Old figures, old rules, old scenery, old articles, old reviews, and old wargamers. Not old school. Just old.

Ted Suren
Inspired By DC over at Unfashionably Shiny I have dug out an interesting oddity to do with Ted Suren and his "Willie" 30mm figures. They are caricatures by Bryan Fosten of figures in Suren's range - I've never seen anything else quite like these. They come from the rather classy calendar produced in 1969 to promote the range.
I have also found a more salubrious picture of Mr Suren to illustrate this post.

Really nice find, maybe a vintage wargames calendar sometime?
Great stuff Clive, i've not seen this before. It appears to be generally accepted that Fosten was the legendary Stan Catchpol and looking at these cartoons you can see why (and for some reason they remind me of the University Challenge episode of the Young Ones). Cheers.
What wonderful work - those are smashing. Bags of characters and lots of fun. Did he ever do any more?
Conrad - these are the only ones I have seen or have to hand. I don't know if the catalogue was a regular thing or just a one off.
