Groves & Benoy - Boy Band 1812


I don't think that would be how they would have appeared in a catalogue (had there been one) and I suspect at least some of these are intended to function as muleteers. The one on the third from the left needs to work a bit on his dancing.

I am so pleased you managed to get all these splendid figures.In the mule post you alluded to rules.Can you tell us more and perhaps a lttle background to the manufacturer?

There is more information on the link in the post titled teaser below. That is about the sum total of my knowledge though Harry Pearson knows more. I am assuming the mules were manufactured by Groves - it seems unlikely there would have been others commercially available in this scale - and they are all mounted on Brigadier Benoy's distinctive bases. I have no knowldge of what rules the Brigadier uses, I just assume he must have had some - and if I have 28 mules that suggests supply played some part in his gaming, whether reflected in the rules themselves or as table decoration. All speculation, I am afraid!
