Brilliant ! Thanks for your timely response to my query, OMD. The list has already proved quite useful to me.
Yet there remains a tantalizing element of mystery to these ships. For instance, why did my purchase include additional ships not on the list ? And what do the Roman numerals on the hull signify as they bear no relationship to the Minifigs catalog numbers ?
I suspect that Minifigs did not commission these ships, but instead came into possession of an existing (and perhaps older) set of molds or masters. Otherwise, why state "we are unable...to confirm the exact scale". If one embarked upon producing a new range of warships, wouldn't the desired scale be one of the first things you communicated to the sculptor ?
I may have some of these ships, purchased by a gaming friend in Britain many many years ago. I have about 8 destroyers, a sub or two and a somewhat larger cruiser. They are painted, but I can not remember if I painted them or the orignial purchaser did, or if they came painted. Is anyone interested in them?
