Old figures, old rules, old scenery, old articles, old reviews, and old wargamers. Not old school. Just old.

S Range Field Defences
Following my last post when I unexpectedly acquired these along with an S Range Napoleonic Austrian Army I thought they would be an appropriate post here.
If you studied your S Range catalogue carefully you could find a section called Miscellaneous, which contained goodies including camp followers, generals of different periods, pack horses and oxen, and Napoleon sat at a table.
The above are FSD 1s and FSD 2s, Horse and Musket Period Field Defences, Chevaux de Frise - 60mm length at the back of the photograph - and Stakes - 55mm at the front.
These are heavy lumps of metal and I had never seen them before.
FSD 3s and 4s were gabions and fascines.

Bellona Manuals of Military Field Works of the 18th & 19th Centuries and of the 20th Century
I have had the first of these two booklets for some time but just bought the second from eBay, so I thought they were worth a post. His drawing style was very distinctive and I thought they also deserved a post as an example of Bellona publications. If you want to see three examples of 19th Century military bridging or three types of 20th Century latrines these are the books for you. Cost on publication was 5/-.
