Prussian generals
Prussian and Bavarian standard bearers
I still have to decide what to do about flags. I want to be able to use the figures for Franco Prussian War as well as Georland. It is not so much an issue for the German troops but I need to decide whether to simply use French flags for Georland, or design a Georland flag and work out a way of alternating these - possibly by converting officer figures which can accommodate different flags and poles by drilling out a hand to receive them.
Yet more visual delights for us at this and the previous posts.
ReplyDeleteThank you for answering my rules question..
I love your Georland figures!
ReplyDeleteAs regards the flags, why not try something I saw in an old Wargames book or magazine, many years ago. You will need to have the flag right up to the top of the flagpole for this to work, however (so no spear head at the top of the flagpole)
- Make a set of flags that you will use most and attach these to the flagpoles
- Make sure that these flags are thoroughly varnished - preferably gloss polyurethane or similar.
- Make a second set of the other flags, but very slightly larger (say about 2mm extra on each side)
- Carefully pre-fold the second set of flags to fit over the top of the main flag, leaving the 2mm clearance on each side
- Apply a thin line of glue along the top of the flag (i.e. at right angles to the flag pole/fold)and stick the folded flag together along the top
- You will then get something like an envelope, but open on two sides rather than just one
- You can then just put the extra flag over the top of the original when you want to use it
Hope that all makes sense!
Ian
Thanks Ian I may try that. I am wavering a little as to whether I should go back to plan A and use S Range Crimean British for the Georland troops - just simmering away
