One of the other chaps in the picture is Jerome K Jerome, author of Three Men In A Boat, the older guy is Frank Palmer Wells' publisher who persuaded him to write Little Wars in the first place. I like the way the buildings and trees are all slightly larger than reality - a bit like those ads for the chest of toy soldiers in old DC comics
All wargames should be played in a shirt and tie! Moustaches are, of course, optional!
